Gwen Ashby

Clinical Director

Gwen leads the practice and works with adults who are carrying something from the past. She uses EMDR, and she starts every new client with questions about pace: how fast, how much, and what is off the table for now.

She explains each step before it happens, including what it might stir up, and checks in during and after every session. Clients can stop, slow down or change direction at any time.

Gwen's approach

Gwen explains what a method asks of you before you agree to it, including what it can stir up, and she checks the pace with you at the start and end of every session.

Ways of working

  • EMDR

Gwen prepares you first: how to settle, how to stop, and which memories to leave alone.

  • Individual therapy

Talking sessions at the pace you choose, with no need to retell the story.

  • Settling before you leave

Each session ends with time to settle, so you leave steadier than a hard topic might otherwise allow.
