Ritu Parikh

Therapist, somatic work

Ritu works with breath, posture and sensation, always by invitation, so that you can notice what you feel and settle when you need to. Sessions are slow and often quiet.

She does not use touch. Eyes open or closed, sitting or standing, you choose how each exercise goes, and you can leave any of them out.

At a glance

  • Somatic and body-based sessions of 50 to 60 minutes

  • No touch in sessions

  • In person in Springfield, by video for clients in Illinois

  • Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) · IL Lic. 000000

Ritu's approach

Ritu offers each exercise as a choice, explains what it asks of you and what it can stir up, and ends every session with a few minutes to settle.

Ways of working

  • Attention to sensation

You decide where to place your attention, and for how long.

  • Breath and posture

Small, optional practices for settling, never required.

  • A quiet pace

Pauses are part of the session, not a break from it.
